MATERIAL — 01
Mineral Pigments矿 物 颜 料
Malachite for green, azurite for blue, cinnabar for red — stones
ground by hand, exactly as they were in the Tang dynasty. They
do not fade; Cave 254 has kept its color for sixteen centuries.
MATERIAL — 02
Gold & Silk金 箔 丝 线
99% pure gold leaf, beaten to a tenth of a micron, and mulberry
silk reeled in Suzhou. The gilding technique we use is listed as
national intangible cultural heritage.
